Historically, healthcare providers have had limited evidence to draw on when diagnosing and treating breastfeeding mothers and their infants. The University of Western Australia (UWA) and the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation (FLRF) endeavour to change that with research into the how breastmilk affects immune health.

This important research will be conducted by the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation Chair in Human Lactology (FLRF CHL), located at the UWA School of Molecular Sciences. UWA and FLRF hope the work will result in advanced understanding that could shape new standards of care for breastfeeding mothers and their infants.
