For almost every organ of the body there is a specialist to whom general practitioners can refer their patients. But for the field of lactation relevant information is lacking in today’s medical curricula. Mothers with breastfeeding challenges should have the possibility to seek advice, care and treatment from specialists who have the specific knowledge and access to state-of-the-art research based diagnostic tools.

For this reason, the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation is working with leading universities to develop and establish Professorships in Human Lactology, to bring breastmilk and human lactation into the curriculum of medical professionals and to anchor this important topic in the scientific landscape.
