The Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation Clinical Image Collection is an open access, expanding collection of educational photos and videos intended to assist healthcare providers when developing training materials or presentations, or when assisting mothers with breastfeeding challenges. The resource contains approximately 100 educational photos and 10 videos of breastfeeding mothers and infants, each exhibiting a specific lactation or breastfeeding topic, such as:
• anatomical problems
• breastfeeding positions
• breast pumping
• infant stools and urine
All photos and videos have been gathered in the Foundation’s name and produced in strict accordance with the ethical and legal requirements for medical photography in which patients are involved. Patients have signed photographic consent forms, or had one signed on their behalf by a parent. All images have been reviewed and approved by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Images are exclusively for nonprofit, educational, medical or scientific purposes. The photos and videos can be used by anyone, but they cannot be used for commercial purposes. Photos and videos shall not be used in any activities that promote infant formula.
Access to breastfeeding patients and their infants is usually only possible for healthcare providers that consult with breastfeeding mothers. Thus, FLRF is grateful to the lactation consultants, midwives and other medical professionals helping to compile and expand the collection.
Are you interested in contributing? We are seeking clinical photos and videos illustrating a number of topics, for instance:
• Breastfeeding positions: twins, both in cradle position
• Breastfeeding preterm infants: with and without nipple shields
• Attachment: incorrect position that limits milk transfer and is not comfortable for mother and/or infant
Please contact Janet Prince, RM, IBCLC and Head of International Relations, FLRF, to learn more – and thank you.
