The Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation’s activities reflect and further its objective: to drive the changes in practice that will increase rates of breastfeeding, and improve the health of mothers and babies worldwide. Being dedicated entirely to breastfeeding and breastmilk allows us to work with sharp strategic focus, aligning our activities across the entire value chain of creation – from knowledge discovery to actual impact in society.
FLRF has endowed nine chairs, at six research centres, that are funded in perpetuity and address critical topics in the field of breastfeeding and breastmilk. The chairs are structured to ensure the long-term continuance of high-quality and independent research centres that are equipped to further understanding of critical questions in breastfeeding and breastmilk.
We are focused on collaborating with experts to build publicly available, sustainable resources that support crucial creation points along the value chain, always with a view toward the tangible benefits of facilitating breastfeeding and consequently, improving mother and child health. History suggests such changes in practice often take an extended timeframe, sometimes even a full generation, before being reflected on a wide scale. That is why the Foundation works with long-term perspective and commitment.
