2 scientists win 2019 TEP Trainee Travel Funds

The ISRHML – Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation Trainee Expansion Program (TEP) awards scholarships to talented young people interested in entering or furthering their work in the field of breastmilk and human lactation.

Two types of scholarships are available: Trainee Bridge Funds (TBF) of up to CHF 100,000 and Trainee Travel Funds (TTF) of up to CHF 10,000. Meet the latest TTF recipients:

  • Alexandra George, a third-year PhD candidate in the School of Molecular Sciences at The University of Western Australia, is developing and optimizing analysis methodologies to investigate the influence human milk lipids have on infant growth, health and development.

  • Dr. Anuradha (Anu) Ravi, a postdoctoral research scientist from the Quadram Institute Bioscience, UK, is using high throughput sequencing technologies and cutting-edge bioinformatics tools to investigate the effects of human milk oligosaccharides and the breastmilk microbiome in developing infant gut microbiota.

TEP, developed by the International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation (ISRHML) and FLRF, has been helping young people advance their scientific careers since 2016.
