The University of Western Australia is home to a new chair dedicated to human lactation, breastfeeding and breastmilk, following an endowment from FLRF.

Historically, healthcare providers have had limited evidence to draw on when diagnosing and treating breastfeeding mothers and their infants. UWA and FLRF endeavor to change that with research into the how breastmilk affects immune health.

This important research will be conducted by the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation Chair in Human Lactology (LRF CHL)*, located at the UWA School of Molecular Sciences. UWA and FLRF hope the work will result in advanced understanding that could shape new standards of care for breastfeeding mothers and their infants.
